Singing Revolution is a contemporary musical with a Europop score. It’s the story of Taavi Tamm, the leader of a resistance movement, who falls in love with the daughter of his enemy. Inspired by the real history of the Estonian revolution against the Soviet Union, our hero leads his fellow countrymen to freedom through the power of song.

Tony Spinosa

Concept, Book, Lyrics & Music

Tony Spinosa (Concept, Book, Lyrics & Music) is a producer, stage director, choreographer, writer, arts leader, and performer. He has directed over fifty theatrical productions across the United States. At a very early age, Tony was mentored by theatre legend Michael Bennett and made his Broadway debut in PETER PAN at the Marriott Marquis Theatre. Tony became the Resident Director of the Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES. He has produced numerous events for Broadway Cares, Theatre Development Fund and The Actors Fund, including the recent mega-hits THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE and BOMBSHELL IN CONCERT at the Minskoff Theatre, [TITLE OF SHOW] IN CONCERT at the Broadhurst, and THEY’RE PLAYING OUR SONG IN CONCERT at the Music Box.

'Singing Revolution: the musical' illuminates the power of peaceful resistance, the importance of standing up for social justice, and serves as a poignant reminder that standing up for what you believe in can help heal a nation.

James Bearhart

Book & Lyrics

James Bearhart (Book & Lyrics), originally from Ireland, is a first generation US immigrant, and is an actor, director and playwright. James most recently performed in a gender-swapped production of HAMLET at The Tank Theater, Manhattan. A first time musical book writer, James’ experience in storytelling comes from years working in the design industry. James has a Master of Design from Central Saint Martins in London, and a Certificate in Screenwriting from UCLA. James was born in a small village called Enniscorthy, Ireland (home of writer Colm Toibin and Bauhaus designer Eileen Grey), has traveled the world, and is the first in his extended family to become a naturalized US citizen. His experience of many cultures and their approaches to storytelling gives him an understanding of what makes a great, universal, story.

Harrison Beck

Orchestrator

Harrison Beck (Orchestrations) is a New York-based composer, orchestrator, music director, and performer. His new score for the stage adaptation of Bill Osco’s cult-classic movie-musical ALICE IN WONDERLAND had its industry presentation with Joey Arias and West Hyler this past summer, and his orchestrations for Ben Model's new score to Charlie Chaplin’s THE ADVENTURER was just premiered by the Boise Philharmonic. Past credits include: Broadway: THE VISIT. Off-Broadway: The Public: SOCRATES, The Vineyard Theatre: THE BEAST IN THE JUNGLE, Ma Yi Theater: PEER GYNT & THE NORWEGIAN HAPA BAND, Cherry Lane Theatre: SWINGTIME CANTEEN, La Mama ETC: THAT BEAUTIFUL LAUGH. Proud graduate of New York University's Tisch School of Drama and Steinhardt School of Music.

Kristi Roosmaa

Estonian Consultant

Kristi Roosmaa (Estonian Consultant) is an award winning Estonian-born actress, singer and producer who got her start at age 5 performing at a bakery. Most recently, she has been noted for producing and starring in the heartfelt award-winning indie short film “Wildflower”. She holds a law degree from Tartu University Institute of Law, a diploma in performing arts from The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, and a dance certificate from the Broadway Dance Center. Her career highlights include performing with Residente feat. Bad Bunny on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, singing as a soloist at Carnegie Hall, in addition to appearing in numerous off- Broadway shows and indie films.
